Khaled Al Shamlan

Head of Strategy and Operations

In his role as Head of Strategy and Operations at ATIC, Khaled Al Shamlan is responsible for defining the company's long-term strategic objectives and overseeing short-term business and operational goals.

Khaled is a founding member of the ATIC team and played a key role in the joint venture transaction with AMD to establish the second largest chip manufacturing company in the world, GLOBALFOUNDRIES, in January 2009.

Prior to ATIC, Khaled worked in the Merger and Acquisitions practice at Mubadala, where he worked on negotiating and executing a number of strategic acquisitions worth over USD4bn in the aerospace and advanced technology industries.

As an entrepreneur, Khaled has invested and provided strategic guidance to several successful local businesses including two construction companies and is a founding member of Qordoba, a crowdsourced translation platform that has increased 800% in value and created hundreds of jobs in the Arab world in less than 12 months.

Khaled holds a Bachelors Degree in International Relations from SUNY Buffalo in the US and a Leadership Development Certificate from UC Berkeley.
